"Thank you for your message. Our records indicate that the image was scanned on 3/26/2004" So much for pre-dating The West Australian release. The version from NASA's Space Flight Gallery shows the same heavy fall-off seen when the photo was first released in the August 2nd 1969 printing of The West Australian. http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/gallery/images/apollo/apollo11/html/as11_40_5903.html He challenges me to adjust the NASA Space Flight Gallery pic so that it resembles the JSC scan.
